UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS, GENEVA

Once Hanadi decided to return to Syria, the threat of airstrikes was constant—and increasingly close to home. It was almost two more years before she learned of her husband’s fate as a detainee, a revelation that led to a rare invitation to testify before the United Nations. Determined to share her story and speak on behalf of the women of Syria, Hanadi once again leaves everything behind, smuggling her and her daughters out of the country in the middle of the night.

A FILM POISED FOR IMPACT

Our hope, in telling an intimate story against the backdrop of a historic conflict, is that our film will capture audiences in a way that inspires people to think differently about the Syrian refugee crisis and spur the global community to take decisive action. For this reason, we are especially honored to have been selected for the Fledgling Engagement Lab, which brings together a small number of social issue documentary film teams along with experts and mentors to design and implement effective outreach and engagement strategies. We are in the process of orchestrating our impact campaign.

Our mission is to:

  • Support Hanadi and her girls as they continue the daily process of redefining and rebuilding home

  • Fund speaking and engagement opportunities for Hanadi, Reilly, and Wanjiku - especially at film festivals and

screenings across the U.S. and Europe.

  • Add more voices to those of the Syrian activists and families calls for truth, freedom, and justice for their detained and disappeared loved ones.

To achieve these goals, we are working to expand our circle of partners and fundraise for our social impact campaign. Please support us by making a tax-deductible donation HERE.
